Phillip Frengs – President

Phil Frengs has been a resident of PVE since 1984. Recently, Phil spearheaded the PVHA’s legal strategy and efforts in successfully defending the Palos Verdes deed restrictions litigation brought by the Palos Verdes Peninsula Board of Education.

Phil has been an active community member, who served on the Palos VerdesGolf Club Board of Directors and was the Club’s President in 1994. At PVGC, Phil chaired two community benefit golf tournaments that provided funds to the Palos Verdes Library District in support of maintaining the open status of the historic Palos Verdes Malaga Cove Library and the funding of the Palos Verdes Memorial Garden.

Phil chaired the City Council-appointed PVE Memorial Garden committee that held a design competition for a renewal of the Garden to memorialize PVE police officers Tracy and Vanderpool who were killed in the line of duty in 1994. The committee’s work resulted in fund-raising, design and contracting for the Garden which is across the street from City Hall, which includes a memorial to the fallen officers, to the Palos Verdes residents who lost their lives during World War II and the Vietnam conflict and a memorial for those who lost their lives in the 9/11 terror attacks.

Phil co-chaired the City of PVE’s 60th anniversary celebration in 1999.

Phil is the founder, President and Chief Executive Officer of the COPi Companies, based in Los Angeles, that provides document management services to legal firms in major US cities and internationally.

Phil is a principal fundraiser for UCLA’s women’s collegiate golf and is a member of the Southern California Golf Association Foundation’s Board of Directors, chairing its Scholarship Committee.

Phil and his wife, Mimi have raised their three adult children in Palos Verdes Estates all of whom attended Palos Verdes public schools.
